Into the Mystery

Last night, I spent a good two-plus hours going over all the details of the Holy Triduum services with altar servers, my pastor, RCIA candidates, and parishioners.  Those who know me well know that I live for these upcoming three days.  I treasure every detail of the liturgies: every movement, every word, and every gesture.  It is a journey into the very heart of the mystery of our faith:  the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus.  And so today is the last full day of our Lenten journey, as tomorrow beginning with the Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper, we enter into this mystery.  May the Lord bless each and every one of you during these coming days as we contemplate and rejoice in the great love our Lord had for us by leaving us the Eucharist, instituting the priesthood, suffering and dying on the cross, and finally conquering death and rising from the dead.  May our Blessed Mother Mary accompany us on this journey as she accompanied her beloved Son.  Mary Help of Christians, pray for us.
