Tonight is the night in which we invite our parishioners
to be reconciled with their God. So many
have spent years since last going to confession, but as I tell them: it doesn’t matter how long it has been, what
matters is that you are there. As we
strive for holiness during this Holy Week, have we made amends with God? Are we ready to embrace the coming Easter
festivities with our hearts totally clean of all iniquity? What is holding us back from approaching the
confessional? Embrace this opportunity
to receive God’s forgiveness from the hands of a priest. Feel his mercy. Rejoice in it, for he has destroyed the
bondage of sin and allowed us to live in the freedom of God’s children.
